Calories and macronutrients are the 'dollars and cents' of nutrition. Understanding what they are and how to use them is the first step in arming yourself with the knowledge to succeed.

This lesson aims to teach you the basics of calorie tracking so that you can work towards staying consistently under your calorie budget.
Restricting energy
The ultimate aim of the game with calories is to understand what they are and, learn how to restrict them with the least amount of hunger. Doing this is the key to long-term calorie reduction, less body fat and improved health prospects. This lesson teaches the ways in which we can best do this.
Now that we have a basic understanding of calories and how to budget for them, we need to go through the basics of putting together meals and a day of eating. There's no magic meal plan or blueprint here, just a requirement to understand some principles. Understanding principles will give you the freedom of good judgment that you can take anywhere, anytime.
